Don’t Hesitate In an Eye Emergency
What is an eye emergency? An eye emergency is any situation in which your vision or eyes are at immediate risk. Emergencies can encompass anything from a small particle becoming embedded in your eye, to a high impact injury to the head.
If you are experiencing any of the following, you should seek immediate medical attention as you may be in the midst of an eye emergency:
- Eye pain
- Sudden loss of vision
- Visual disturbances
- Double vision
- Ocular or lid swelling
- Sensitivity to light
- Sudden onset or change of flashes & floaters
- Significant itching, burning, irritation, or discharge
- Foreign body or chemical in the eye
It is extremely important that you receive medical care as soon as possible if you are experiencing an eye emergency. If not properly managed, an eye emergency can result in permanent loss of vision.
